Important order, return, RMA, warranty, and coupon policies for ROBOTIS.US customers.
Please review this page before placing an order, requesting a return, or sending products to ROBOTIS for evaluation. All returns, repairs, exchanges, and warranty requests must follow the RMA process before any product is shipped to ROBOTIS.
Policy Highlights
- Most orders ship within 2 business days unless out of stock or shipping is closed.
- Orders placed after 12 PM Pacific Time process the next business day.
- Unopened returns may be requested within 30 days of receipt.
- All returns, repairs, exchanges, and warranty evaluations require an approved RMA Number.
- Warranty replacement is not guaranteed and may only be considered after ROBOTIS inspection and evaluation.
- 3D printed parts and assembled ecosystem bundles may be non-returnable or subject to production, printing, and assembly deductions.
Important RMA Requirement
ROBOTIS will not provide refunds, exchanges, repairs, or warranty replacements without an approved RMA Number. Warranty replacement is not automatic and cannot be confirmed from a customer description alone. Products must first be received, inspected, and evaluated by ROBOTIS. When required, products may be escalated to the ROBOTIS HQ team for initial inspection before warranty replacement, repair, paid service, return, or other resolution can be considered.
Shipping
- All shipping rates are weight-based and depend on the shipping option selected at checkout. All orders will be shipped within 2 business days of order placement unless the product is out of stock, subject to an existing lead time, affected by inventory or fulfillment delays, or shipping operations are closed. Orders placed after 12:00 PM Pacific Time will be processed the following business day.* Shipping timelines are estimates and may change depending on product availability, warehouse operations, carrier delays, holidays, weather, customs processing, or other factors outside of ROBOTIS’ control.*
- ROBOTIS does not normally process same-day shipments. For emergency rush orders requiring same-day processing and shipping, a $75 rush processing fee will apply.**
- The ROBOTIS.US online shop ships to all locations in North, Central, and South America.***
- For all international shipments, insurance is required and will be included in the shipping cost. For domestic shipments, ROBOTIS may require a signature on delivery.
- Available shipping carriers include FedEx, UPS, and USPS. Please contact america@robotis.com if you wish to use a different carrier. Please note that ROBOTIS may not be able to accommodate all carrier requests.
- ROBOTIS will not be responsible for any loss or damage to the shipment once the shipment has been transferred to the carrier.
- The Order Comments section at checkout is not for special delivery instructions or carrier requests. Shipping carriers do not have access to these notes and cannot accommodate requests entered there. This field is intended for internal purposes, such as purchase order numbers.
- ROBOTIS and its warehouse will be closed on all U.S. national holidays unless otherwise noted. Orders placed on or before those dates will be fulfilled on the next available business day.
- ROBOTIS cannot ship to P.O. Boxes. If your shipping address is a P.O. Box, you will be contacted to provide a valid delivery address.
- ROBOTIS ships orders on business days only. Saturday delivery requires additional steps, written confirmation from ROBOTIS, and a weekend delivery fee based on shipment weight and shipping location. Overnight orders placed on Fridays, or after 12:00 PM Pacific Time on Thursdays, should be expected to arrive on Monday unless Saturday delivery has been confirmed in writing by ROBOTIS.
- ROBOTIS is not responsible for shipping charge refunds if a shipment arrives later than the selected carrier service, including 2-Day, 3-Day, or Overnight Shipping. Delivery delays may be caused by weather, safety protocols, carrier capacity, customs review, or other carrier-related factors. Any late-delivery dispute or service guarantee claim must be handled directly with the shipping carrier.
- If a package is returned to ROBOTIS due to buyer error, or undeliverability, buyer will be responsible for the return shipping fee & re-shipping fee.

*Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding U.S. national holidays. For orders placed on Friday, the next business day is normally the following Monday unless that Monday is a U.S. national holiday.
**If your order is urgent, please contact ROBOTIS as soon as possible by phone at 949-377-0377 ext. 1 or by email at america@robotis.com. ROBOTIS cannot guarantee that all rush requests can be accommodated, but our team will do its best to assist.
***For all international shipments outside the contiguous United States, the customer is responsible for all customs, duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, and related charges.
Returns & Exchanges
- All returns, exchanges, repairs, and warranty evaluations must be made through the RMA process described below.
- You may request a return within 30 days of receipt of an order for an exchange or refund. A 20% restocking fee will apply.
- Returned products must be unopened and in their original packaging unless otherwise approved in writing by ROBOTIS.
- The customer is responsible for the cost of shipping returned items to ROBOTIS unless ROBOTIS determines, after evaluation, that the item is defective and covered under warranty.
- When returning items, please package them appropriately to avoid damage during shipment. ROBOTIS is not responsible for damage caused by poor packaging and has the right to refuse refunds, replacements, exchanges, or warranty service if items are damaged upon receipt.
- When returning items, please confirm the return address provided by ROBOTIS and keep the tracking number. ROBOTIS is not responsible for lost return shipments.
- Refunds, replacements, exchanges, repairs, or warranty resolutions will not be granted until ROBOTIS has received the items and deemed them acceptable after inspection and evaluation.
- Please allow ROBOTIS up to 14 business days to process an approved refund from the time your items are received and accepted. If an immediate replacement is needed, you may place a new order while waiting for your refund request to be reviewed and processed.
- ROBOTIS will not provide any refunds, replacements, exchanges, or repairs without an approved RMA Number.
- ROBOTIS has the right to refuse any shipment that does not have an issued RMA Number or does not follow the RMA instructions provided by ROBOTIS.
- ROBOTIS reserves the right to deny refunds, replacements, exchanges, or repairs if returned items are deemed unsatisfactory, used, opened, damaged, incomplete, non-defective, outside the return window, outside warranty coverage, or otherwise ineligible. In such cases, ROBOTIS will not be responsible for shipping costs to return the items to the customer.
- 3D printed parts, assembled items, assembled bundles, and build or assembly services may be subject to additional return and cancellation restrictions as described in the section below.
3D Printed Parts & Assembled Bundles From the ROBOTIS Ecosystem
This section applies to ROBOTIS Ecosystem items, project bundles, optional 3D printed parts, made-to-order printed parts, assembled items, assembled bundles, and assembly or build services offered through ROBOTIS.US or related ROBOTIS Ecosystem product pages.
- 3D printed parts are made-to-order items and are not eligible for return, refund, or exchange once they have been shipped.
- If a cancellation or refund request is made after production has already started for a 3D printed part, assembly, or build, ROBOTIS reserves the right to deduct the full cost of the 3D printed parts from any refund. This may include, but is not limited to, printing time, material cost, preparation, labor, production setup, and any related service fees.
- If an assembly order, build service, assembled item, or assembled bundle is canceled after assembly preparation or production has begun, ROBOTIS reserves the right to deduct the assembly fee, build-service fee, 3D printed parts fee, and any related production costs from the refund.
- Assembled items, completed builds, assembled bundles, and custom-assembled configurations are not eligible for return or refund once assembly has been completed or the item has been shipped, unless otherwise approved in writing by ROBOTIS.
- Project bundles may include ROBOTIS-manufactured products, third-party parts, optional 3D printed parts, documentation references, or open-source project requirements. Customers are responsible for reviewing the applicable product page, project documentation, Bill of Materials, lead time, assembly requirements, and any third-party requirements before placing an order.
- ROBOTIS does not guarantee that a project bundle, 3D printed part, or assembled item will satisfy every customer-specific use case, integration, modification, research requirement, or performance expectation. Compatibility, build success, and final performance may depend on customer assembly, software setup, calibration, third-party components, project updates, and intended application.
- Repairs or replacements for individual ROBOTIS 3D printed parts or components may be considered if the item is covered under manufacturer defect warranty and is deemed defective by ROBOTIS after RMA inspection and evaluation.
- Warranty coverage does not apply to normal wear, cosmetic variation in 3D printed parts, print layer lines, minor surface imperfections, customer modification, improper assembly, improper installation, misuse, damage during integration, damage caused by third-party parts, or issues caused by open-source design changes or customer-side design changes.
- All repair, replacement, warranty, refund, or cancellation requests for 3D printed parts, assembled items, and ROBOTIS Ecosystem bundles must follow the RMA process or written review process required by ROBOTIS. Approval is not guaranteed and may only be determined after review and, where applicable, inspection.

RMA Process
The RMA process is mandatory for any and all returns, repairs, and or replacements. Products may not be sent to ROBOTIS for return, repair, exchange, or warranty evaluation until an RMA Number has been issued. Receiving an RMA Number allows ROBOTIS to receive and evaluate the product; it does not guarantee a refund, repair, exchange, or warranty replacement.
Warranty replacement or repair may only be considered after inspection. Products must first be received, processed, and inspected by ROBOTIS. Depending on the product, issue, quantity, and requested resolution, the product may require initial inspection by the ROBOTIS HQ team before warranty eligibility or replacement options can be determined.
- All products should first be returned to the original point of sale. If your retailer is unable to assist, they may go through the RMA process or direct you to the ROBOTIS RMA form.
- Before submitting an RMA request, go through the appropriate product self-checklist and identify the error code associated with your item. If there is no error code, choose N/A on the RMA form.
- Fill out the RMA Form with the relevant information, including model name, quantity, purchase information, error code, issue description, troubleshooting steps already completed, and any helpful photos or videos.
- Once the RMA Form has been submitted and reviewed, ROBOTIS will issue an email containing your RMA Number and shipping instructions if the request is approved to proceed.
- After receiving an RMA Number and shipping instructions from ROBOTIS, you may ship your items to ROBOTIS. Do not ship products before receiving an RMA Number.
- Returned packages must include the RMA Number clearly written on the outside of the package.
- Returned packages should include a printed copy of the RMA form or RMA issuance email.
- Returned packages should include a printed copy of your order invoice, if available.
- Returned packages should include your name, return address, phone number, and email address so ROBOTIS can contact you with any questions.
- Once received, ROBOTIS will process and review the item. Evaluation may require additional inspection by the ROBOTIS HQ team before a final resolution can be offered.
- After inspection, ROBOTIS will determine whether the product is eligible for warranty repair, warranty replacement, paid repair, exchange, refund, return as-is, or other resolution. ROBOTIS cannot guarantee a timeline or outcome until the inspection has been completed.
- ROBOTIS reserves the right to charge customers for parts and labor if returned items are deemed non-defective, damaged by use, outside warranty coverage, or otherwise ineligible for warranty service. In such cases, ROBOTIS will not be responsible for shipping costs back to the customer.
- ROBOTIS is not responsible for the cost of shipping items back to ROBOTIS unless the items are deemed defective by ROBOTIS after evaluation. This also applies to exchanges and incorrectly ordered products.
- ROBOTIS is not responsible for the cost of return shipping to the customer unless the items have been deemed defective and covered by ROBOTIS after evaluation.

1 Year Warranty
- Unless otherwise noted, ROBOTIS warranties its products against manufacturer defects for 1 year from the date of purchase.
- Products that are not manufactured by ROBOTIS, are co-developed with ROBOTIS, are sold as clearance, are sold as special-order items, or are covered by separate stated terms may not be covered under the standard ROBOTIS warranty.
- Warranty coverage requires the RMA process and inspection by ROBOTIS. Warranty replacement, repair, refund, or other resolution cannot be approved before the product is received and evaluated.
- For warranty replacement consideration, the product may need to be inspected by the ROBOTIS HQ team. Warranty replacement is only possible if ROBOTIS determines that the issue is covered by warranty after inspection.
- Opening, disassembling, modifying, altering, or attempting to repair a product without prior written approval from ROBOTIS may void warranty coverage. Warranty coverage may also be denied for products that show signs of misuse, improper installation, incorrect wiring, improper voltage or power supply use, overload, physical damage, liquid damage, contamination, unauthorized modification, tampering, use outside of published specifications, or damage caused by third-party parts, tools, software, or accessories.
- ROBOTIS reserves the right to determine the appropriate resolution after inspection, which may include warranty repair, warranty replacement, paid repair, return as-is, refund, exchange, or denial of coverage.
Battery Warranty
- ROBOTIS battery products with Lithium-Polymer chemistry (Li-Po) are warrantied for 6 months from the date of purchase.
- Over-discharge, misuse, incorrect charging practices, physical damage, unsafe storage, or use outside product specifications may void battery warranty coverage.
- Battery warranty requests must also follow the RMA process and require inspection before coverage can be determined.
Warranty Disclaimer
- You will not qualify for warranty coverage or refund if the issue is caused by normal wear and tear, abuse, improper use, incorrect installation, operation outside specifications, evidence of tampering or disassembly, modification, or accidental damage.
- Worn gears, burnt motors, burnt PCBs, damaged cables, physically damaged housings, impact damage, water damage, wiring damage, and damage caused by incorrect power use are not covered under warranty.
- Modification of DYNAMIXEL firmware to disable Error Status or Shutdown Alarms may void the warranty.
- ROBOTIS may deny warranty coverage if inspection indicates that the product condition is consistent with damage caused by use, integration, environment, handling, shipping, improper packaging, or customer-side modification rather than a manufacturer defect.
Coupons & Discounts
- Coupons are valid only for purchases made on www.robotis.us.
- Coupons and discounts are valid only on a while-supplies-last basis unless otherwise stated on the coupon.
- Coupons are not valid for prior purchases, shipping fees, taxes, or any other items specifically excluded.
- Eligibility for specific coupons may be restricted to new customers, returning customers, or specific customer segments.
- Only one coupon code can be applied per order or transaction unless otherwise specified.
- Coupon codes cannot be combined with any other offers, discounts, or promotions unless explicitly stated.
- Many coupons require a minimum purchase amount, excluding shipping and taxes, to be valid. This minimum must be met after any other discounts are applied, but before the coupon discount.
- All coupons have an expiration date. The coupon must be used before or on the specified expiration date.
- Expired coupons will not be honored or reactivated.
- Coupons are non-transferable and may not be sold, exchanged, or redeemed for cash or credit.
- If an item purchased with a coupon is returned, the refund will be for the amount paid, meaning the original price less the coupon discount. The coupon value will not be refunded.
- If a partial return causes the order total to fall below a minimum purchase requirement for a coupon, the discount may be revoked and the refund adjusted accordingly.
- ROBOTIS reserves the right to decline or cancel orders that use coupon codes in an unauthorized or fraudulent manner.
- Any attempt to manipulate or exploit the coupon system for illegitimate gains may result in coupon invalidation and order cancellation.
- ROBOTIS reserves the right to modify or discontinue any coupon at any time without prior notice.
